About Us

The Western Maryland Regional Library provides services and resources directly to the public libraries of Allegany, Garrett, and Washington counties. We are not a public service library but instead we work closely with the staff in the three western counties to help them continue to provide stellar service to their customers. We are housed in the Fletcher branch of the Washington County Free Library at 100 S. Potomac Street in Hagerstown, Maryland but our staff travels to all 18 branches situated across the panhandle.

Examples of the services and resources we provide to the 18 branches include:

  • Polaris Online Catalog (ILS)
  • Staff development and training
  • Web management and design
  • Materials purchasing and deposit collections
  • WHILBR: Western Maryland’s Historical Library
  • Interlibrary Loan Delivery
